Dao Jinping, born in September 1966 in Huan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Northwest Normal University, specializing in Chinese painting. He further studied in the Guo Yihan Floral and Bird Art Studio at the Graduate School of the China Academy of Art. He is skilled in calligraphy and floral and bird painting. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute, Advisor to the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles’ Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Center, Art Researcher at the China Association of Oriental Culture Studies, and National Senior Artist. He also holds positions as Deputy Secretary-General of the International Exchange Committee of the China Association of Trade in Service and Deputy Secretary-General of the New Literary Group Calligraphy and Painter Working Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association. He is a member of the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th sessions of the Qingyang City Political Consultative Conference in Gansu Province.

For many years, he has participated in the survey and preservation of Huanxian Daoqing shadow puppetry, serving as the chief editor of the works Huanxian Daoqing Shadow Puppetry and Huanxian Daoqing Shadow Puppetry Chronicles. His personal art collections A Giant of a Generation and Art Without Boundaries have been published, and over 200 of his works have been featured in core domestic and international journals, including China Talent, Art Market, Rongbaozhai, Readers, and Truth Newspaper. His works are collected by the embassies of over ten countries, including Albania, the Netherlands, and Morocco.

In 2025, his works Dragon in Clouds and Five Stars Rise in the East were exhibited in the China-Italy Cultural Exchange Exhibition and the “Five Stars Rise in the East” Chinese Art Delegation’s Visit to Top British Universities Event. He was honored with titles such as “International Cultural Exchange Art Star” and “Belt and Road Internationally Influential Artist”.
